Ms Ng Wan Peng, a Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) veteran of 11 years, was appointed its chief operating officer (COO), effective 1 May.
“The position of COO and appointment of Ms Ng were approved by the MDeC Board of Directors at its 48th meeting on March 26, 2009,” said Dato' Badlisham Ghazali, MDeC chief executive officer.
Prior to this announcement, Ng was vice-president of MDeC's Capacity Development Division.
As COO, Ng will be responsible for all operational matters and will be in-charge of three specific areas, namely:-
Resource Management: Budget, Manpower and Facilities utilisation through effective management of available resources.
Strategy Execution & Coordination: Coordinated planning and execution of key action initiatives, progress reviews and periodic reporting of results.
Operational Quality & Efficiency Management: Enterprise-wide process management, risk management, methods and systems deployment.
Ng has 21 years’ experience in the ICT field. She also has extensive experience in managing large-scale projects, in the areas of strategic IT planning, project management, systems integration, and methodologies development.
She has a honors degree in Computer Science from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and she has consulted for both private and public sector organisations in IT policy and project implementation in government, defence and education sectors in Malaysia and abroad.
