Kuala Lumpur, 21 May 2008 - Today at the IMPACT World Cyber Security Summit, SANS Institute Director of Research, Alan Paller announced a major joint initiative to help nations build capacity for improved cyber security.
 

After much speculation, Intel Capital, the investment arm of semiconductor chipmaker Intel Corporation, invested RM50 million in Malaysian next-generation communication networks and solutions provider, the listed company Green Packet Bhd at the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2008 in Kuala Lumpur on 19 May.

Malaysian wireless technology solutions provider Allied Digital Infonet Bhd announced the worldwide launch of its Advance Information Delivery and Access Solution (AIDAAS) at the World Congress on Information Technology 2008 (WCIT 2008) in Kuala Lumpur on 19 May, of which it also is a Pinnacle Partner.

Indeed, actual patterns of broadband uptake, hence penetration could potentially lead to broadband contributing to the widening, rather than narrowing of the digital divide in certain countries but this can be avoided if broadband service providers learn from the experience of mobile operators, according to International Telecommunication Union (ITU) secretary-general Dr. Hamadoun Touré.

When WCIT 2008 officials announced the companies signing on as pinnacle sponsors for the world’s largest ICT congress, there were no gasps when Microsoft and Malaysian Multimedia Development Corporation MDeC were listed as pinnacle sponsors for WCIT 2008; the highest partnership level available and priced at a cool US$1 million.  

About 160 MSC Malaysia status companies will be participating in the upcoming 16th World Congress on Information Technology 2008 (WCIT 2008) – the world’s premier ICT event, which will for the very first time be held in Kuala Lumpur from 18 to 22 May, 2008.
